Applying for Aid
College is an investment, and having financial aid can help cover some of those costs,
which will help you place more focus on your education. Financial aid isn't just about
loans - it can also include grants and scholarships that you don't have to pay back,
and opportunities to work on campus through the Work-Study program. Knowing how much
aid you can receive will help you plan for your academic future. We outline all the
steps no matter what type of aid you qualify for.

Your Financial Plan for Attending UW
Pursuing your education at the University of Wyoming is an exciting step toward a
bright future. Having a solid financial plan in place before you begin helps reduce
stress and allows you to focus on what matters most—your studies. With the support
of financial aid and a solid plan, you can navigate costs more easily and dedicate
your energy to achieving academic success.
As you consider your options for college, it's important that you consider the Net
Price - the difference between estimated
Cost of Attendance
and the actual scholarships and grants you qualify for. That number is your estimated
out-of-pocket cost for a year. If your Net Price feels out of reach, there are other
options:

Resident Students
UW and the State of Wyoming are dedicated to making high-quality education accessible
all across the Cowboy State. New first-time students, as well as continuing students,
from Wyoming may qualify for renewing scholarships they can count on for up to four
years.
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Along with the immense support UW offers to resident students, we strive to make our
exemplary education available for new first-time non-resident students as well. Several
options are available to help support these students’ education, even as they become
continuing students.
UW is proud to invite international students to the Cowboy State! There are scholarship
options for both new first-time students, as well as continuing students.

A large portion of UW’s student population is made up of transfer students. This is
why we have created renewing scholarships to provide additional financial support
to resident, non-resident and international transfer students.
Wyoming resident students who are twenty-four years of age or older may be eligible
to receive scholarship assistance at UW.
LEARN ABOUT THIS scholarship
WyoScholarships is our scholarship system. All students should complete a "general
application" each year as we use that to determine eligibility for scholarships,
especially those that renew.
EXPLORE system
External scholarships are another way to help fund your education. Our office works
with students to ensure these funds from outside organizations are properly added
to your account.
