Where is UESD Located?
The University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) is a Public University located at Somanya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana. It was established by an Act of Parliament,  UESD Act, 2015 (Act 898) and inaugurated on the 5th of August, 2020 by H.E. Nana Addo-Dankwah Akuffo-Addo , the former President of the Republic of Ghana.
UESD is situated in a serene environment and has state-of-the-art facilities with smart buildings, beautifully and strategically designed. Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson is the first Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Is UESD Accredited?
Yes. UESD is accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), the regulator of Tertiary Institutions in Ghana.
What institution is UESD affiliated with?
UESD is an autonomous University. It is

to complete the purchase of OSN (via mobile money, debit, or credit card) and application.
I lost my ID card – what should I do?
Please report to the Finance Department to make the payment, and then proceed to the I.T Directorate to collect your ID card.
How long does it take to get admission after applying?
The average duration is two weeks, provided all documentation necessary for processing admissions is intact.
Where can I find out about funding or receive financial aid?
Students of Ghanaian Citizenship should visit the Students Loan Trust Fund Secretariat, Scholarship Secretariat, and GETFund, all in Accra for guidance.
What are the admission requirements?
~WASSCE Holders (A1-C6)

~Diploma Holders
~HND holders (second class) with relevant background of study will start from level 300.
~Mature Applicants (25 years and above with a Minimum of Senior High School Certificate)

Does UESD accept Mature Applicants?
Yes. An access programme is run by the University for prospective applicants aged 25 years and above. They will be admitted into the University after passing an entrance examination and interview.
Does UESD offer career advice, internship, and employment information?
UESD has professional Counselors at the Career and Counseling Unit whose duties include providing guidance in both their academic work and career aspirations.
What are the requirements for foreign students?
Foreign students should send their results to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for interpretation and approval.
Is accommodation guaranteed? How much do students typically pay for rent?

What medical services are provided to students?
The UESD on-campus clinic is a fully functional and well-stocked health post manned by health professionals and experienced medical practitioners who serve the entire university community.
The University is also situated within a few meter-radius of other health facilities and centres including Atua Government Hospital, Somanya Hospital, Somanya Polyclinic, etc.
What security measures are in place at UESD?
The university campus is surrounded by CCTV cameras and has a tight 24-hour security detail for both the campus and the hostels.
Do you accept transfer applicants?
Yes, we do.
Do I need a visa to come to Ghana?
Depending on one’s country of origin, one may need a visa. West African nationals do not require Visa to visit Ghana. Some nationals are also given visas on arrival. What a prospective student needs to do is to regularize their stay with a Residence permit from the Ghana Immigration Service.
