The Department of Nursing & Allied Health Sciences offers a degree in general nursing. You will discover a rich academic experience that combines a foundation in theory and practice with hands-on learning and leadership development in a variety of healthcare settings. You will also get the benefit of being a part of the greater undergraduate and medical school community at St. George’s University. With strong international connections, the SGU nursing graduate will be prepared to practice in a number of settings and areas.
The program, which includes nursing, science, and liberal arts courses, is a minimum of 121 credit hours.
Class sizes are small, facilitating close interaction with faculty and active participation in the classrooms, as well as promoting mutual support and a ready exchange of ideas among fellow students. As a practice, professional nursing classes are interactive, utilizing the simulation lab and clinical practicums.
St. George’s University nursing students complete 3 years of study to obtain a 126 credit degree. Typically, students carry a course load of 5 courses per term during the fall and spring semesters and 1 or 2 courses during the summer and winter semesters.
