Strategy on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
At Sorsogon State University (SorSU), diversity, equity, and inclusivity are foundational principles that guide the institution’s culture and operations. Fight Song!
In 2020, while pursuing a Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNED) in the Teacher Education Department at Sorsogon State University, Ms. Christine Garcia gained widespread recognition for her remarkable and creative use of sign language interpretation. Her video performance, showcasing her skills, was met with immense enthusiasm from the online community. Featured by CNN Philippines, NEWS5, and NET 25, the video quickly became a viral sensation, amassing 150,000 reactions, 8,400 comments, 133,000 shares, and an impressive 4.22 million views as of June 2, 2020. Ms. Garcia’s exceptional talent has not only made a significant impact locally but has also inspired audiences on an international scale.

SorSU Bahaghari

The SorSU – Bahaghari – Sorsogon City Campus shall recognize the vital role of the students in nation building, thus it shall maintain active participation in school activities that shall promote their physical, intellectual, moral, spiritual, social being adhering inclusivity among all. The SorSU Bahaghari – Sorsogon city campus shall be responsive for the actual needs of the student and other stakeholders and to this end shall be democratic and participative. As the highest expression of the LGBT student organization in the campus, it shall exist as principal venue with which the student, as a collective entity advance their welfare, aspirations and sentiments.

Bible Reader Society International (Bread Society)
Founded on the premise of promoting values among today’s youth, the Bible Readers’ Society is an international organization that believes that regular Bible reading is key to building a morally-driven God-fearing society. we are a non-government, non-profit, non-sectarian, socio-civic group whose main purpose is to bring the Bible closer to people.
