Welcome to the River Cafe, part of Timespan and located on the river Helmsdale. Our cafe offers a relaxing atmosphere where you can enjoy a delicious crepe, freshly baked local treats, and expertly crafted coffee. Managed by Anyuta Gillespie, our team of talented women, including Galina, Claire, and Shirley, is committed to providing a dining experience that is both delicious and memorable.
Whether you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, a leisurely coffee break, or a satisfying meal with family and friends, the River Cafe Helmsdale is the perfect destination. Located in a stunning spot overlooking our community herb garden and the River Helmsdale, we use local seasonal produce whenever possible to ensure freshness and minimise our carbon footprint. Our menu changes regularly to follow what’s in season.

Central to our ethos is the belief in supporting local producers and minimizing food miles to reduce our carbon footprint.
