About the College:
Brief History of the College –
Davangere University Constituent College, Hariyabbe, is one of the premier educational institutions in Karnataka .this college was established in the year 2022-23 and affiliated with Davangere University, Davangere.
Hariyabbe is a village in Hiriyur taluk of chithradurga district in the south Indian state of Karnataka. Geographically of the Hariyabbe is a Village Panchayat headquarter. It is situated 26 km from the Sub-distic headquarter hiriyur and 66km away from District headquarter Chitradurga.
Village Historical Background:
Hariyabbe is a significant historical connection to the name Hariyabbe came as a symbol of Hariyamma and Habbamma’s friendship and their love. Hariyabbe village was established around 10th and 11th century during the reign of madakarinayaka. This village is also forefront of education and politics. The Grampanchayat consists of the president,vice president and members of the taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat.Thre are people who serve in various departments of the government.
Hariyabbe gram Panchayat consists of 5 wards and this panchayat has a population of 7077 and 19 elected members. Hariyabbe, Hariyabbepalya, T- gollahalli, mungasavalli, chandragiri, suguru, and saluhunase village’s belongs to Hariyabbe panchayat so this was the historical background of Hariyabbe village.
The College is located in Hariyabbe village on a sprawling campus of 10 acres. It caters to the needs of urban and rural students. The college has 161 UG students,coordinator with 18 teaching staff, and 2 non -teaching staff.
Resource persons are invited to each department for every academic year for interaction, demonstration, and discussion with students and staff. The students are encouraged to participate in major conferences, seminars, and workshops. The College constantly aspires to scale great heights in its quest for excellence in imparting human, intellectual, spiritual and moral knowledge to the students.
Having successfully overcome the various impediments encountered on the way to its growth, the College has grown in stature and strength, and has matured into one of the finest educational institutions dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and excellence in the field of higher education. The College has produced good, committed teachers, scientists, and administrative workers who have made their name both in Karnataka and contributed their strength to taking this institution to great heights.
