Frequently Asked Questions
A video visit is an appointment with your provider using secure, live video. It’s similar to an in-person visit, except you don’t have to go to the clinic.
The cost is about the same as an in-person appointment.
It depends on your insurance coverage. If you are required to pay a co-pay during an in-person visit, then it will also apply for your video visit. You may receive a mailed request for payment.
You must have an internet-enabled device—like a smartphone, tablet, or computer—with a camera and a speakerphone. Cellular data charges may apply if you are not using Wi-Fi. Check with your carrier if you have questions about your data plan.
It should be about the same as an in-person visit.
It’s best to be in a private location with a strong internet connection.
Depending on the nature of your visit, a thermometer, blood pressure measurement and a flashlight could be helpful but are not required.
