Weather and Climate services play a vital role in predicting and monitoring extreme weather events like tropical cyclones, heatwaves, floods, and droughts, which directly impact human well-being by causing injuries, displacement, and fatalities. Additionally, climate data helps track air quality and pollution levels, which can exacerbate respiratory and cardiovascular conditions. Furthermore, climate variability affects agricultural productivity and water resources, impacting food and water security, and increasing the risk of vector-borne diseases like malaria and dengue fever. By providing early warnings and preparedness information, climate services help communities better anticipate and mitigate the health impacts of climate-related disasters.
