Lone Fir Cemetery
Metro manages 14 historic cemeteries around Multnomah County, from scenic Corbett to the top of Sylvan Hill in southwest Portland. Seven of these cemeteries are open for new sales. Whether you’re interested in purchasing a burial space, locating an old family burial plot, or replacing the marker at an existing grave, the first step is to contact Metro’s cemetery staff by phone or email.
Why choose a Metro cemetery?
People have many reasons for choosing one of Metro’s cemeteries as the final resting place for themselves or their loved ones. Some are attracted to the cemeteries’ rich histories and their beautiful natural settings. Others want to be laid to rest near family who are already buried at a cemetery.
Many people also appreciate that because Metro is a government agency, it has a commitment to keeping its fee rates as affordable as possible. Metro’s caring and professional cemetery staff do not work on commission and have experience with diverse burial customs.
Whether you are making arrangements for a recently deceased loved one or pre-planning for the future, Metro staff can help explain your options and guide you through the process. They can also help you locate applications for specialized services like those available to U.S. military veterans and their families.
