True Progress (formerly Track My Progress)
A support program for students in grades 6–12 who benefit from executive functioning support or need help managing academic demands. Students meet regularly with a learning specialist for coaching focused on organization, planning, and confidence-building. Offered in place of an elective.
Personalized tools and in-class supports that help students stay focused, manage behavior, and build self-regulation skills for learning. College Board or ACT Accommodations Official accommodations (like extended time) for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, or AP exams, based on documentation and an external application process.
Common diagnoses supported at Maclay include ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, anxiety, and language processing challenges.
An enrichment program for students in grades 1–8 with high interest or ability in STEM. In grades 1–4, students work with the gifted education teacher during the school day in place of an elective or PE (referral required). In grades 5–8, students participate during FLEX or a middle school elective period to prepare for math competitions. Participation is based on student interest and ability.
An early literacy and word reading screener used in PreK–Grade 1 to assess foundational reading skills and guide instruction. Previously known as EarlyBird Learning Profile - A customized plan that outlines classroom accommodations for a student based on a diagnosed learning or behavioral need (similar to an IEP).
An educator who works closely with students who learn differently, providing personalized strategies and support to help them succeed.
A schoolwide system that uses teamwork and data to identify student needs and provide increasing levels of academic and behavioral support.
Therapeutic support for fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily functioning, provided on campus through contracted services with community partners.
A K–5 program providing individualized, OrtonGillingham–based reading instruction for students who need more explicit or tailored support due to a diagnosed learning difference or other reading challenge that occurs in lieu of their classroom ELA instruction.
A comprehensive evaluation conducted by a licensed psychologist to understand a student’s learning strengths, challenges, and support needs.
A request made by a teacher, parent, or school staff member to explore additional support for a student.
Support for speech, language, and communication challenges that impact learning, provided on campus through contracted services with trusted community partners.
Supervised testing for students who require additional accommodations beyond the classroom setting, such as extended time, a distraction-free environment, a human reader, or a scribe, coordinated by CAE.
A nationally normed K–8 assessment used four times a year to monitor growth in reading and math and guide instruction.
