The Trocaire College Technology Institute is making a difference by helping people transition to new careers in IT leaving behind dead end, low paying jobs.

Trocaire program partners include TechBuffalo, New York State, United Way of Greater Buffalo, Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Development Consortium, 716 Ministries, ACCES-VR, and others.

Career Outlook
According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, a computer user support specialist can earn an average annual salary of $59,710, or $28.71/hr. Starting annual salaries are approximately $40,070, or $19.26/hr.

Trocaire was one of 12 organizations recognized by CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the global technology industry. More than 1,500 people from 70-plus countries participated in the online event.
CompTIA’s Innovation Award recognizes partners for their response to the pandemic and their commitment to continue to train to CompTIA courses and certification as they prepared students for careers in information technology.
Additionally, two of Trocaire’s Workforce Development instructors were nominated for the Woman in Tech and Rising Star categories during the 2022 InfoTech WNY BETAS. InfoTech WNY is a rapidly growing consortium of multi-sized software, hardware, telecommunications companies, government and economic agencies, and educational institutions.
Trocaire was recognized as a 2022 Business Partner and Community Partner of the Year by Goodwill Industries of WNY. In collaboration with Goodwill, Trocaire helps to provide onsite IT training for the Goodskills Career Builder Program. The students receive IT training that transforms into workforce readiness skills which benefit the student’s professional and personal lives. In 2025, Trocaire helped to provide training to over 100 participants in the Goodskills Career Builder Program.
