How many semesters constitute an academic session at JABU?
An academic session at JABU is made up of two semesters.
Is JABU for Christians only?
JABU admits qualified students from any religious background that are willing to subscribe to the rules and regulations of the university which includes regular attendance at the Chapel worship services by students, faculty and staff.
What kind of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes do JABU offer?
JABU runs undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at master’s and doctorate levels and across most the disciplines for all interested candidates. Available programmes cut across seven colleges and can be found

How much are my programme fees?
Programme fees vary according to the programme. Generally, fees for undergraduate programmes range from N500,000 to N900,000 per academic session.

Will I be able to cook in my hall of residence?
Cooking is not allowed in the halls of residence. Students are required to take all their meals in the university cafeteria on a pay-as-you-eat basis.
Does JABU offer pre-degree programmes?
JABU offers an A-level programme called
JABU Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board
(JUPEB). The programme leads to the award of the JUPEB certificate which, after an examination administered by
JUPEB
, enables successful candidates to gain direct entry admissions into 200 level of a degree programme at
Joseph Ayo Babalola University
and other universities in Nigeria.
Does JABU offer conversion programmes?
JABU offers direct entry admission opportunities into 200 level for candidates with National Diploma (ND), National Certificate of Education (NCE), and Higher National Diploma (HND).
Can I pay my programme fees in instalments?
Payments can be made in up to four instalments.
What should I bring to school with me at resumption?
Students are expected to bring the following items: one blanket, two bed sheets, two pillow cases, a rechargeable lamp, and clothing (formal and casual).
Are students allowed to use personal cell phones and laptops?
Yes, students are allowed to use phones and laptops.
What type of haircut is acceptable in JABU for male students?
Male students are expected to have low haircuts and be clean shaven always.
What is JABU cut-off mark in JAMB?
The cut-off mark depends on the academic year as set by JAMB. For example, the cut-off mark in 2021/2022 set by JAMB for private universities was 120. However, universities reserve the right to set cut-off mark for specific courses.
I did not choose JABU during JAMB UTME registration. Can I still apply?
Candidates who did not choose JABU as their first choice institution should visit a JAMB accredited CBT centre to effect a change of institution.

Can I transfer to JABU from my current university?
Yes, you can. Candidates who are interested in gaining admission into JABU as transfer students should obtain relevant forms from the academic office at JABU.
What is JABU dress code for male students?
The University insists on a decent and proper dress code for students. Female students are expected to wear decent dresses that honour womanhood, with high neck-line tops and or reaching below-the-knee skirts or gowns. Multicolour hairdo is not allowed. Male students are expected to dress formally preferably in conventional suits, French suits or minimally in trousers, tucked-in shirt with a tie from 8.00 am to 5.00 p.m. You can read more about dress codes for students
