Live Projects - Book Industry Communication
Skip to content
Launched in September 2025, the project is to agree, document and promote the consistent use of ONIX to enable helpful, efficient product searches and encourage their conversion into sales. Physical and digital products are in scope, as are all readers and all intermediaries in the supply chain.
The BIC Metadata Map project was commissioned by the BIC Metadata Sub-Committee with the purpose of creating a map of the UK book industry’s metadata supply chain from the point of creation (with the publisher as the start point) through to the end-recipients of the metadata (i.e., consumers).
The BIC Green Supply Chain Committee has now signed off on its refreshed Green Supply Chain Work plan.
This Work Plan is developed and refreshed annually, in line with BIC’s Green Promise and Agenda, and uses the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals as its frame work.
