DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD
Each year at Homecoming, HCA awards an alumnus/alumna with the Distinguished Alumni Award. We invite you to nominate your classmates in peers who have demonstrated the following criteria:
Professional Achievement and Career
The
nominated alumnus/alumna has
attained prominence through his or her efforts in commerce, industry, technology, the professions, agriculture, the arts, education, government, military or other worthy endeavors that
form a record of accomplishment that reflect the values found in their HCA education.
Service to Society
The nominated alumnus/alumna exemplifies
integrity and a demonstrated commitment to service through an interest in bettering the lives of others through vol
unteer efforts in their local community or church.
Service and Support to HCA
The
nominated alumnus/alumna’s
deeds and actions reflect the importance of his or her educational training, pride in alma mater, as demonstrated through their interest in and support
of
HCA and their program.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2024 DISTGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD WINNER
PETER WILLIAMS, CLASS OF 2017
Please join us in giving a warm round of applause for our 2024 Distinguished Alumni recipient, Peter Williams.
Peter graduated from HCA in 2017 and went on to attend Taylor University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business. During his time at HCA, Peter consistently demonstrated his leadership abilities, serving as the student council president in both his junior and senior years. His efforts were instrumental in shaping the student council into the driving force behind student life activities at HCA. From an early age, Peter exhibited a strong sense of servant leadership that made a significant impact on our community.
In the summer of 2022, Peter approached Mrs. D’Alessandro and Mr. Young with a visionary idea to launch a Business program at HCA, which has now progressed to what SIPS coffee (our HCA student led, full-service coffee shop) is today. He returned to HCA to teach this valuable class and to establish the business and entrepreneurship program, which has quickly become one of our most exciting and successful initiatives. Mrs. D’Alessandro shared her thoughts on Peter’s contributions, saying, “I love how Peter has encapsulated the phrase ‘Once a Lion, Always a Lion.’ He benefited from an HCA education and recognized the solid foundation it provided him. By returning to HCA, Peter has chosen to invest in the next generation of disciples. He is using his talents to start a new program at HCA so that the legacy of the school can impact more students to fulfill the Great Commission.”
