Use this checklist to keep track of your NEXT STEP for starting in Fall 2025
We are here to help your transition to the Big Blue Fredonia Family. Each semester we plan a required New Student Orientation for all incoming students (first-year and transfer) that takes place right before classes start. For new students entering in the fall semester, we also host summer programs to complete your academic course registration requirements. Once a student submits their deposit, our office will send detailed information appropriate to them.

Academic Advising and Course Schedule Confirmation
A team of experts at Fredonia creates a preliminary course schedule for each new student. Just before or during orientation, students will have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor to review and finalize their first semester course schedule.  The steps below will walk you through the process.
Please note that you will need to have your eServices account set up to complete each of these steps. If you need assistance with this, please reach out to

Step 1- View your schedule in Your Connection
Once in the Your Connection portal, follow these steps to view your schedule:
Click on the four blocks in the upper left-hand corner of the page. “Start Here” will appear.
Click on “Start Here”
Click on "Student Services, Financial Aid, Residence Life"
Click on the "Student Dashboard". Student Web Services will appear.
Under “Academic”, click on “Student Profile”
Located in the left-hand menu, click on “Class Schedule”. This will allow you to view your class schedule.
Step 2- Access your Degree Works
Each student at Fredonia needs to complete specific requirements to earn a Bachelor's Degree.  Please review the
Degree Works Power Point
, it will help you understand how to use this online tool to:
View your transfer credits and how they will fill your degree requirements
Determine your specific degree requirements
Track your degree progress each semester
Step 3 –Register for Advising Appointment
Log into Starfish and select an online appointment on the advising calendar before January 16, only.
Once you successfully reserve a virtual appointment time, you will receive an email confirmation along with a link for your meeting. Do NOT miss your advising meeting if possible. Rescheduling is very limited due to capacity and time availability.

New Student Orientation
Participating in New Student Orientation (NSO) is required for all new first-year and transfer students.
New Student Orientation highlights include:
An official introduction to the campus community
Navigate the campus spaces (find classrooms, dining halls, etc.)
Exposure to academic and personal support services
Build relationship networks
Participate in campus traditions
Please note: All new undergraduate first-year and transfer students will see a one-time orientation fee applied to their semester bill.

Accessing your eServices Credentials
Your personalized eservices username and password is what students use to log into FREDMail, YourConnection, FREDLearn and other tools at
my.fredonia.edu
.
Your e-Services username will be sent to you via email a couple of days after we receive your deposit.  It is a combination of 4 letters from your last name and 4 numbers from your Fredonia ID number.  For example:
smit2026@fredonia.edu
Once you know your eServices username, you will need to create a password using the
fredPASS
site.
If you have difficulty with your eServices username and password, please contact Fredonia's ITS Service Center at 716-673-3407.
To view your schedule, you will need to have your eServices account set up. Your eServices account gives you access to YourConnection, where you can view your schedule.

Click on the Your Connection icon towards the top of the webpage
Sign in using your eServices Username and Password
Note:
You will need to set up your Microsoft Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
Once in the Your Connection portal, follow these steps to view your schedule:

In order to be registered for classes, you must comply with SUNY and New York State Department of Health Regulations for attending college at Fredonia by completing the following items before orientation.
1.) Submit a copy of your Immunization Records (MMR and Meningitis) to the Student Health Center via email, mail, or fax.
2.) Complete the Meningitis Vaccine Form in Your Connection.
3.) If you are under the age of 18, please submit an
Authorization for Care of Under Age 18 Form

We are looking to hire a variety of student leaders to serve as transition coaches to incoming new first-year and transfer students.  Orientation Leaders help online during the summer with the FREDReady program and in person in the fall with New Student Orientation activities.  Students from all majors with at least a 2.5 GPA are welcome to apply online.
