Performing Arts/ Music
At Carnegie Primary School, we offer our students opportunity to explore Performing Arts through Music, Dance, Drama and Media Arts. Our curriculum and weekly learning aims to develop our childrens' knowledge and skills in the arts, further supporting them to build on their confidence, collaboration skills and creativity through their engagement.
Learning includes:
Learning notes and beats through various forms of body and instrumental percussion to develop rhythm and form
Exploring chords and notes through learning instruments including guitar, ukulele, xylophone and recorder
Engaging with various musical genres, expanding appreciation for different music across eras
Yr 6 Band allowing students to share passion for music to jam and perform together
Performing in groups or individually in front of their peers and school members
Biennial school concert in which students sing and follow a choreographed dance
Dancing to a beat and recognising body movements and actions to imitate desired emotions
Character making and exploration to bring dimension to their acting skils
Enganging with pop culture over the decades to explore different approaches to movies and music
Monolgue rehearsing and group performances
Movie Making and Sound editing to create short films and song recordings
Exploring Garage Band, Imovie, Stop Motion and Puppet Pals to produce digital media
Rich interactive games to create class connections and friendships
