Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha assumes Office as Deputy Chief Executive of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency - Community Water and Sanitation Agency
The Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) has welcomed Mr Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha as its new Deputy Chief Executive, marking a significant step in strengthening Ghana’s efforts to improve rural water supply and sanitation services.
Mr Putiaha’s appointment comes at a crucial time when Ghana is intensifying efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 — ensuring access to clean water and sanitation for all. With his extensive experience in public administration and development projects, he is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing CWSA’s mandate.
In his inaugural address, Mr Putiaha expressed his commitment to collaborating with stakeholders, improving service delivery, and ensuring sustainable water systems in rural communities and small towns in Ghana.
Before his appointment, Mr. Putiaha has extensive experience in public service having served as Municipal Chief Executive for the Wa Municipal Assembly. He also served at the National Health Insurance Authority as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and Nadowli Scheme Manager. These roles have exposed him to high levels of governance, policy formulation, stakeholder management and organization transformation. His expertise in management positions him as a valuable asset to CWSA.
As Mr Putiaha settles into his new role, expectations are high for innovative solutions, improved service delivery, and stronger partnerships to ensure that no Ghanaian is left behind in accessing clean water and sanitation.
