91% of our research environment was judged to be 4* World- leading or Internationally excellent,
conducive to creating the highest quality research.

Morgan Advanced Studies Institute
(MASI) provides a home for multidisciplinary research to flourish, enhancing our competitiveness for interdisciplinary funding streams.

The Swansea University Research Staff Working Group oversees the delivery of the Concordat Action Plan, to support the Career Development of Researchers.

providing an environment that enables our researchers, professional support colleagues (research enablers) and our collaborators to deliver and undertake excellent, responsible research and innovation.
What is Research Culture?
Based on valuable feedback from CEDARS 2023 and through Research Culture Cafés held across the University (attended by post-docs, technicians, academics, research enablers and PhD students) we have developed a
Research Culture Action Plan
to address our own issues within our research environment.

Helping advance research assessment practices in the United Kingdom
The United Kingdom has taken a significant step forward in advancing responsible research assessment with the establishment of a National Chapter of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), co-led by Swansea University. Together with the University of Strathclyde and Loughborough University, we are working to promote systemic reform whilst reflecting on ambitions for reforming research assessment.
The
Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA)
is a global initiative aimed at advancing responsible research assessment practices. By promoting collaboration, transparency, and integrity in research assessment, CoARA seeks to drive positive change in the scholarly ecosystem.
