Tuition & Financial Aid
At French International, we’re fortunate that tuition covers the majority of the school’s operating needs, including special expenses of being a language immersion school (faculty visas, working permits, and “expatriate benefits”). Financial aid is available to families who qualify.
As part of our Strategic Plan, with the support of the Finance and Budget Committee and the Leadership Team, the Board of Trustees committed to increasing faculty and staff salaries to the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) 50th percentile. We are proud to say we reached this by 2024-25 school year.
We have increased salaries by approximately $3M over the past four years to attract and retain the very best teachers and staff to work with your children each day and provide the robust learning experience that makes French International so unique.

Payment in Full to French International
French International accepts credit card payments for tuition payment in full only
There is a three-percent credit card processing fee assessed on the total amount due. French International accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Payments can be made through the Parent Portal or New Family Portal.
French International offers semi-annual, quarterly, 10-month, and 12-month plans, with payments beginning in July for the following school year. The interest rate for all plans is 4% per annum, charged on the outstanding balance.
Payment plans are managed through VCPay, the payment system in Veracross. Registration for VCPay is required for all payment plans, and optional for full payment. VCPay charges a yearly administrative fee of $21 per student for semi-annual payment plans, $42 per student for quarterly plans, and $63 per student for monthly plans (10- and 12-month options). If you choose to pay by credit card through VCPay, please be aware that there is an additional 2.99% convenience fee plus $.30 per transaction for Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, and a 3.1% convenience fee plus $.30 per transaction for American Express. If paying by ACH, no convenience fees are incurred.
Tuition payments in full may also be made through VCPay; there are no administrative fees for this option.

New for the 2026-27 school year, French International is partnering with
Protect My Tuition
to provide more comprehensive tuition refund insurance coverage for families. Coverage now includes illness (both physical and mental), job transfer, academic withdrawal, voluntary withdrawal, and more. Protect My Tuition will even allow a student to remain at French International if a parent experiences involuntary unemployment, rather than having to withdraw.
While signing up for Protect My Tuition is not a requirement for 2026-27, we strongly encourage families to consider this option for better protection against unforeseen circumstances. The cost for Protect My Tuition is 2.3% of net tuition, a rate unchanged from the 2025-26 insurance plan. More details will be available when re-enrollment contracts are issued.
Anyone may apply for financial aid at French International. Awards are based on relative need.
Given the differing application timelines between school-based financial aid through French International and the French
bourses scolaires
through the French government, families who are eligible for the
bourses scolaires
should complete both school-based and
bourses scolaires
applications as soon as possible.
Bourses scolaires
applications must be submitted in order to be considered for school-based financial aid awards. All applications are considered in the strictest confidence.
