Public Relations and Information Department
The function of the Public Relations and Information Department are as follows:-
For disseminating knowledge to the public on the aims and objectives of Yangon City Development Committee, educative agitation relating to development, notifications and civic duties to be abided by means of media.
In coordination with the government department and organization, hold Myanmar traditional dance and song called ''a-nyeint'', performance of dramatic art, dance and song in the garden and parks for entertainment to city-dwellers.
In performing entertainment and festivity for the public at state-sponsored ceremonies and ceremonies which have been taken responsibility and held by the Committee, take responsibility and hold them in coordination with the relevant department and organization./li>
To make known and understood by the public on the performance of development works by authorities, departments and Township Development Committees distribute it through news media.
Broadcasting news of the development projects implemented in the city territorial limit by means of media and photo and video recording and storing by modern technology.
For enabling to perform printing by authorities and departments under the Committee, establish the Committee-owned press and extension thereof.
For enabling to make known and abide by the public simultaneously on matters of city development works, security matters, and matters relating to traffic rules and road regulations, by establishing radio and television channels, exercise strict supervision and carry out agitation, present performance and news broadcast.
Collecting all information related to city development works and making use of modern information technology, manage and perform services, and perform for enabling to connect media network up to the committee members, authorities, departments and Township Development Committees.
In performing news media business and television service business, communicate, coordinate and jointly carry out with local and foreign organizations, companies and persons on the whole business or part of it through cooperation, entrusting and doing joint-venture.
In respect of news media business and television service business, coordinate and cooperate with government office, departmental organization, outside organizations and news agencies on exchanging information, receiving and buying by giving fees, if necessary.>
In communicating and receiving from local and foreign sources on mutual basis in respect of news media broadcasts and distributions carry out by receiving aid and assistance of information technology and equipment.
