Paul Coreil, Ph.D.
, serves as Chancellor of LSUA, bringing over 40 years of leadership experience in higher education and public service. Since joining LSUA in 2013, Coreil has been instrumental in developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan aimed at enhancing the university’s visibility, boosting enrollment, improving retention, and ensuring the success of students beyond graduation. His vision has been critical in positioning LSUA as a leader in higher education across central Louisiana.

About Paul Coreil, Ph.D.
Prior to his role at LSUA, Paul Coreil, Ph.D., had a distinguished career with the LSU Agricultural Center, where he served as Vice Chancellor and Director of the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service (LCES) from 2001 to 2013. During his tenure, he led numerous state and national initiatives, including serving as chair of the Association of Southern Region Extension Directors and the national Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP). He was also the chair of the eXtension National Governing Committee, overseeing the development of a pioneering national web-based information system.
Coreil’s expertise in wildlife management and wetland policy has been recognized through numerous awards, including his induction into the LSU AgCenter Hall of Distinction, the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame, and the National 4-H Hall of Fame. He has also received the Coastal Stewardship Award from the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, the LSU AgCenter Chancellor's Diversity Leadership Award, and the ASRED Excellence in Leadership Award.
Coreil holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, a Master’s Degree in Wildlife Management, and a Ph.D. in Extension Education, both from Louisiana State University.
Beyond LSUA, Coreil remains an active community leader, serving on the board of the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Central Louisiana Regional Port Commission, and as Chair of the Rapides Parish Ambulance Service Advisory Committee.
