ADVENTURE GIRLS
Outdoor adventures after school and an overnight campout at Butler Campus, offered in 10-week sessions during the fall and winter. Girls have opportunities to develop leadership, communication, and collaborative skills through fun and engaging challenges.
BAKE TO LEARN
An after-school tennis workshop and skill-building academy hosted by local instructors, with classes for Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten-Grade 2.
MAKER MONDAYS/FRIDAYS
Robotics focused specialty classes held after school for eight weeks in the fall, winter, or spring.
RECESS CLUBS
For Grades 3-5, with offerings like Math Competition Club, Gator Garage Woodshop Club, Butler Buzz Newspaper Club, Outdoor Running and Adventure Club, and Garden Club.
SKI CLUB
For Grades 5-8, students travel weekly to local slopes by bus

Welcomes beginners and sharpshooters to the world of archery to practice precision and focus, target goals, and embrace the thrill of the bow.
HEARTHSTONE CLUB
A club for strategy games and witty battles where students learn new strategies, try creative decks, and challenge friends in friendly digital card game tournaments.
IMAGINATORS IMPROV
Steps into a world of spontaneous laughter and imagination to unleash quick wit, hone comedic timing, and explore hilarious scenes through games and performances.
JUNIOR MODEL UN
Focuses on solving global challenges through virtual interscholastic competitions at John Carroll University; includes learning research and public speaking skills with Upper School team members.
LAUREL LEAVES: MEMORY MAKERS
Captures the Middle School experience through photography, quotations, and layouts for the school yearbook and social media, ensuring cherished moments are noticed.
MATH CLUB/TEAM
Meets to explore fun math topics outside the curriculum, practice, and prepare for math contests, including the GCCTM Middle School Problem-Solving tournament.
MUSIC MAKERS and CIRCUIT BREAKERS
A hands-on elective combining STEAM with musical expression by using Makey Makey invention kits to transform everyday objects (like bananas or tin foil) into musical instruments.
POWER OF THE PEN TEAM
For creative Seventh and Eighth Graders who live to write; the team practices at lunch/recess to develop writing skills and prepare for Saturday Power of the Pen competitions.
ROBOTICS FIRST LEGO LEAGUE TEAM
Uses STEM concepts and fun to solve real-world problems by designing, building, and programming a LEGO® SPIKE robot to compete on a themed table-top playing field.

SPEECH AND DEBATE
Provides instruction and practice in public speaking to sharpen communication and logic skills, including building effective arguments and practicing various events.

Discusses allergy safety, holds cooking/baking events, and is open to everyone (even those without allergies)
ASIAN CULTURE CLUB
Open to all to learn about Asian culture through food, games, fundraisers, discussions, and celebrations, often in collaboration with the CCIS Asian Affinity Group.
BUSINESS IMPACT CLUB
Features hands-on projects and competitions to teach framework philosophies, discuss real cases, hear from business experts, conduct site visits, and perform social media challenges
COGNITIVE LINKS
Discusses education about brain health, builds community through stress-reduction activities (journaling, puzzles, games), and aims to publish a picture book for kids about the brain.
CONSPIRACY THEORY CLUB
Focuses on fun research of debated topics, arts and crafts, and public speaking practice.
ENVIROTHON
An annual outdoor competition for high schoolers to demonstrate knowledge in five environmental topics: aquatics, soils and land use, forestry, and current environmental issues
ESPORTS
GALLIMAUFRY
Laurel’s art and writing magazine that showcases student creative writing and art to the community, publishing one issue every other month with meetings during lunch.
GEEK CULTURE CLUB
For all things niche and nerdy, including tabletop role-playing games (like Dungeons & Dragons), book discussions, and discussions on fantasy and sci-fi.
GIRL UP
An international initiative of the United Nations foundation focusing on promoting equity for girls through advocacy for gender justice, events, and building activism skills
GREEN KEY
HIKING CLUB
Visits local trails and outdoor areas every other week for hiking and fun activities like sledding, scavenger hunts, and survival skills.
HOME ECONOMICS
Teaches the basics of living alone, such as laundry, food management, and finances.
INVESTMENT COMMITTEE
Educates members on investing in stocks and understanding the stock market; the committee invests real money based on group decisions, features guest speakers, and requires members to research and present stock recommendations.
ITALIAN HERITAGE CLUB
Welcomes everyone to learn about Italian heritage, language, and cooking Italian dishes; culimating in an annual Festa dinner.
K-DANCE
A K-pop dance club for learning dances, listening to music, and having fun.
KEY CLUB
Partners with an international organization to provide service opportunities, build character, develop leadership, and earn service hours.
LATINA CULTURE CLUB
Focuses on current events discussion, community education, and arts appreciation.
LAUREL CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
Builds community and connections through meetings for Bible studies, meaningful discussions on Christian life, and joint meetings with other schools.
LAUREL MINDFUL MILES
An outdoors club held during lunch for picnics, walking, and other fun activities outside; also organizes and participates in Walk-a-thons to raise money for various organizations.
LAUREL POLITICAL REVIEW
A politics-focused newspaper where students write one article per month about national and international political events
LAUREL SCHOOL FILM PRODUCTIONS (LSFP)
A club that creates a film entirely by the students and teaches the ins and outs of the film industry, from writing to operating lighting and cameras.
LEAF Club (Leadership in Environmental Action for the Future)
Works to improve sustainability at Laurel, provides environmental justice education, plans the NEO Youth Climate Summit, and allows students to gain skills in event planning and public speaking.
LETTERS OF LOVE
Involves writing letters for emotional support to children in the hospital battling serious or terminal illnesses; includes music and snacks.
MIND MATTERS
A mental health and psychology club that meets every other month for snacks and conversation, discussing leadership, volunteer opportunities and featuring guest speakers.
MOCK TRIAL
MODEL UN
MUSLIM STUDENT ASSOCIATION
A community for Muslim students to gather for support, talks, prayers, Islamic activities, and community service/advocacy work
POET LAURELATE
Aims to create the largest high school online library of student poetry, existing as a living journal with spoken poetry expositions, workshopping, and collaboration.
PRISM
A safe space for queer folk and allies to meet and talk casually, plan events, and fundraise.
ROBOTICS
Competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) competition against other schools in Ohio, where the team builds and programs a robot to complete a series of assigned tasks based on an annual game board and theme.
SOCIAL JUSTICE CLUB
Works to ensure equal rights and opportunities in the Greater Cleveland Area by promoting social change, spending time with local organizations, and earning meaningful service hours.
SPEECH AND DEBATE
STUDENTS DEMAND ACTION
A student-led group working to end gun violence through education, advocacy, and action; educates the school on current events, fundraising, and brings in speakers to build leadership skills.
THE VOICE
Explores different forms of writing, allows students to speak for various causes, unites diverse experiences, and serves as a movement for teen advocacy.
