October 22, 2025
Dear Families,
The month of October is often a sweet spot in the school year. Students are settled into their routines, fully engaged in academics, and our clubs and teams are successfully practicing and competing. One important item that we did want to give some attention to is our afternoon car line dismissal, a busy time of the day. Below you will find several important expectations and reminders that will help ensure the car line runs safely and smoothly.
Driving Directions Upper School (Grades 5 - 8)
When immediately entering campus, bear to the right to go around the circle to enter the Upper School car line. You will remain in this line throughout the pickup process. With faculty assistance for younger students, your child will meet you at your car at the big red doors, and you will remain in the Upper School line until Faculty directs traffic to allow space for you to eventually move left and exit campus.
Driving Directions Lower School (Grade 1 - 4)
When immediately entering campus, turn to the left, and use the left lane to enter the Lower School car line, remaining in this line throughout the pickup process. Faculty will direct you to eventually move to the right after the red doors to remain in the Lower School car line. You will be directed to pull up as far as space allows. Therefore, if you have a student in grades 1 - 4, you may be asked to pull all the way up to the Wilby building and your child will walk to your car from the Johnson Courtyard. Once your child is in the car, you will turn left to exit campus.
Driving Directions Early Childhood (Explorers - Kindergarten)
When immediately entering campus, stay on the left, and use the left lane to enter the Lower School car line. Faculty will direct you to eventually move to the right after the red doors to remain in the Lower School car line. You will be directed to pull up to the Wilby Building. Please pull up to the curb and wait for your child to be walked to your car. Once at your car, you are welcome to get out and assist your child with entering the vehicle. Please always assist your child on the back passenger side, closest to the sidewalk. Once your child is in the car, you will exit campus.
Helpful Reminders for all Grade Levels
Please remain in your space in line; cars should not pass each other.
Continue to follow the car line all the way forward to your pick-up location. This helps traffic flow so there is no backup.
Please watch and listen to the faculty who are directing traffic to ensure you are in the correct “line”.
We have noticed some cars cutting through the back of the parking lot to “cut” the car line. This disrupts the flow of the car line, creating a situation where cars are pulling in and out at the same time. Please remember to stay in the designated car line route and follow it all the way through.
At the beginning of the year, families often park and walk their child to or from the building. Now that students have settled into their routines, we encourage all families to utilize the car line.
If your child needs help entering your vehicle, please assist them in entering and exiting from the side closest to the sidewalk.
We understand that everyone is excited to pick up their children, but our number one priority is safety. Thank you for your cooperation and continued partnership in keeping our arrival and dismissal times safe for all. If you have any questions, please reach out to us anytime.
Sincerely,
Amy Moviel
