What's On?
The Museum's permanent exhibition displays are co-curated with the local community and display Whitburn's rich history. A variety of artefacts are shown featuring local communities, people and stories. We also have a digital interactive display for you to delve into and find out more.
Our latest temporary exhibition in partnership with Scottish Co-operative Discovery Centre looks at the vital role the Co-op has historically had in West Lothian's community.

This guitar was donated and signed by Andy Mooney, the CEO of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. Mooney was born in Whitburn and is the son of a miner. From 1999 to 2011 he worked at Disney, where he pioneered the Disney Princesses.

donating objects or pictures to the Museum
, or by joining our volunteer team. Just get in touch with us using the contact details below and we'll be happy to talk to you about the different opportunities.
Accessibility
There are 3 allocated disabled parking spaces available in front of the Whitburn Partnership Centre. There is no charge for these spaces. They are not bookable in advance.
Entry to the museum is through the front entrance of the Whitburn Partnership Centre. There is a ramp access to the front entrance. There is level access to the Community Museum from the entrance. The entrance has automatic doors.
The Museum space is level. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available.
West Lothian Council is a breastfeeding friendly organisation.
Assistance dogs are welcome.
The Museum space is generally relatively quiet and uncrowded. However, please be aware that the space is shared with other community facilities.
