June Term and Capstone Experiences - Newark Academy June Term and Capstone Experiences At Newark Academy, the final two weeks of the school year are a time for immersive, hands-on discovery in both NA’s Upper and Middle School. Upper School June Term Middle School Capstone Experiences Upper School students take a hands-on, intensive course of their choosing. NA faculty members designed courses like “Making Things Fly” and “Mindful Adventures” to engage student passions and expand student interests. The learning that takes place in June Term classes is different than one would find in most high school classrooms. June Term classes prioritize active learning and collaboration, with the final assessment typically taking the form of a student-generated product.
