If you are unsure which report to use, we suggest using the Michigan Tech Hotline , a private, third-party option for reporting a variety of issues. Confidential Support If you would prefer to discuss your concern with a confidential (private) resource before taking action, confidential resources are available Student of Concern Share a concern about a student's well-being. This can include academic struggles, behavioral changes, mental health or medical concerns, family crises, etc. Process Information Who receives this: staff in the Dean of Students Office Next steps: A staff member will review the report and determine the best course of action for outreach and support. Your involvement: You may choose to submit anonymously, but providing your contact information is helpful if we need more information to move forward. Privacy note Student records are protected by FERPA. The person submitting the report may not receive information about the specific action taken. Report a Student of Concern Public Safety Tip Line Report time-sensitive (but non-emergency) concerns to Public Safety and Police Services, such as observations of unusual behavior. Process Information Who receives this: Public Safety and Police Services Next steps: Public Safety will assess the information and take appropriate action. Your involvement: You may choose to submit anonymously, but providing your contact information is helpful if we need more information to move forward. Privacy note Contact information is optional to allow for anonymous reporting. Submit a Tip Academic Misconduct Report concerns related to academic integrity , such as cheating, plagiarism, or unauthorized collaboration. Process Information Who receives this: staff in the Office of Academic and Community Conduct Next steps: A staff member will do an initial review, followed by a possible investigation. Your involvement: You may be asked to provide additional information. Privacy note Student conduct records are protected by FERPA. Information gathered and investigation outcomes are protected. Report Academic Misconduct Discrimination and Harassment Report incidents of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation based on a protected status (e.g., race, color, sex, sexual orientation, disability) under University policy Process Information Who receives this: Equal Opportunity Compliance staff Next steps: Staff will follow up with the complainant (victim) via email to acknowledge and follow up on the report, provide options for support and resources, and share information regarding options and next steps. Your involvement: Equal Opportunity Compliance staff will discuss all options with the complainant (victim) and they can choose their level of involvement. Your involvement: The Title IX Coordinator will discuss all options with the complainant (victim) and they can choose their level of involvement.
