Our Mission
Under the leadership of the Associate Vice President for Research and Economic Development, the Office of Research & Economic Development at California State University, Long Beach serves the University community by creating a campus environment that is conducive to promoting research and other scholarly activities that contribute to the mission of the University.
With a primary emphasis on faculty-student research engagement, the office provides leadership, information, direction, resources, training and technical assistance to faculty and students engaged in externally funded research, instruction, community service and other scholarly activities.
In accomplishing this mission, ORED ensures ethical practices for both human subjects and animal care and use in the conduct of research, fiscal accountability, compliance and stewardship for sponsored programs as directed by the core values of the University and by all applicable Federal, State, and University policies, procedures and regulations.
