Who We Are
Access Services includes the areas of Circulation, Reserves, Interlibrary Loan, Facilities, Shipping and Receiving. Supported by strong customer service, we facilitate access to local and distributed physical and electronic resources. In addition, we provide facilities and space management for the Dartmouth Libraries.

What We Do
Provide front-line customer service, including answering patron questions and referring patrons to services and resources.
Facilitate access to information.

Our Divisions
Circulation and Reserves
Often, we are the first point of contact for the libraries, and we can triage questions or direct you to other departments. Triage questions and direct users to other departments as needed. You can ask us questions at any of the public service desks in the libraries. We also provide reserve services, obtain resources needed for classes in a variety of formats, and facilitate access through course reserves system.

Resource Sharing
The Resource Sharing team are the superstars who find materials that aren't available locally. We manage the process of requesting an item through interlibrary loan, finding it from a partner library, notifying you when your item is ready, and troubleshooting along the way. Also, we provide scans from materials in Dartmouth collections.

Facilities
We manage library buildings and spaces, in particular Baker-Berry Library, and liaise with college facilities and custodial staff. Anytime construction or renovation takes place, we coordinate with Dartmouth Office of Planning, Design and Construction, and outside contractors.
Shipping and Receiving
We perform all shipping and receiving functions for the libraries and other occupants of the Baker-Berry Library complex, like delivering mail and packages. Shipping and Receiving manages the library and records management courier service, facilitating the movement of library materials and College Records among the libraries and other college offices.
