Passcodes and Waiting Rooms - The easiest way to secure your meeting
Passcode
adds an additional level of protection to your Zoom Meeting. The passcode often appears as a change in the link to the meeting:
Example Zoom link without a password: rider.zoom.us/j/357049427
Example Zoom link with a password: rider.zoom.us/j/357049427?pwd=VFZXTFpHNW8ydlJMb1pEeEFfdrtUdz09
By default, your Rider Zoom account will automatically set a passcode for each meeting that is scheduled.
To ensure this setting is enabled, navigate to
rider.zoom.us
and view your upcoming meetings. Any meetings that do not have a passcode or waiting room enabled will appear with a red exclamation point in the Title.
The
Waiting Room
feature allows the host to control when a participant joins the meeting. As the meeting host, you can admit attendees one by one, or hold all attendees in the Waiting Room and admit them all at once.
Instructors can designate a GA or another student co-host to admit students from the Waiting Room into the class.
