Summer Season
We are looking forward to showing you around our three amazing sites and gardens, so what are you waiting for, come join us for a wonderful day out!
Opening Times:
The museum is re-opening our doors for the Summer Season on Saturday 7th February.
Tuesdays to Saturdays (including Bank Holiday Mondays).
10am to 1pm & 2pm to 5pm (last entry 4.30pm).
If you would like a private visit during the week, then please call 01684 297174 and we can arrange a museum trip for you.

Opening exceptions:
We will be closed on Thursday 23rd April in the morning for a school visit. We will re-open as usual in the afternoon at 2pm.
What you will see:
The
John Moore Museum
is nestled in a row of historic timber-framed buildings close to the Abbey in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. The museum was established in 1980 in memory of the writer and naturalist, John Moore. Today it is also home to an extensive Natural History collection featuring specimens of the mammals and birds native to our woodlands, wetlands, gardens and farms. If you want to discover more about our local countryside, including our famous “flooding” rivers to the Severn Ham, then we are place for you.
A few doors away is
The Merchant’s House
, a two storey building which has been beautifully restored and furnished to show the construction of a 16th century shop and dwelling.
The museum has recently renovated the
Old Baptist Chapel
, originally a late medieval hall house which was later converted for use as a Nonconformist meeting house.

Winter Opening
(1 November to 1 April) Most Saturdays and school holidays. We will be closed in December and January, although schools & groups are welcome to visit all year round (pre-booking is required) – please contact us for details
