Clarity Application Opens October 1, 2025
Deadlines (including relevant supplemental documents):
December 15, 2025
Getting Started:
Go to
Clarity Financial Aid Application
to create your account.
Start with household & applicant information and select Hilton Head Preparatory School.
Sign and submit Form 4506c to give Clarity permission to pull your prior year's (2024) tax returns. This means you won't need to upload any of them yourself! (please allow five business days for the IRS to process your tax transcript).
Complete your financial information, including income, expenses, assets, and debts.
The application fee is $60.00, non-refundable per household.
After careful review, the Financial Aid Committee makes an informed decision based on the family’s application, the number of qualified applicants, and overall budgetary constraints.
If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at:
support@clarityapp.com
or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.
Prep holds all information provided to establish need in strict confidence; likewise, we request that you and your student keep the specifics of your award package confidential.
Value and Affordability
We are committed to helping families afford a Hilton Head Prep Education.
Each year, our financial aid program provides $2.3 million in need-based aid to qualifying families. At Hilton Head Prep, we actively seek to admit and retain college-bound motivated, mission appropriate students, regardless of their family's ability to pay full tuition. We believe our comprehensive aid program is fundamental in making this goal a reality. We also believe that socio-economic diversity enriches educational opportunities for all families.
Financial aid decisions are made independently from admissions decisions and in no way affect a candidate's chances for admission.
Did you know....As of January 1, 2026 you may withdraw up to $20,000 (per child) from qualified 529 plans for your children's private secondary school tuition.
Tuition Payment Schedule Options
The School's tuition payment schedule allows three payment options:
Option 1: The tuition payment may be paid in full by June 1.
Option 2: Tri-annual payments may be paid in June, October and February.
Option 3: A 10-month payment plan may be paid June-March.
*Options 2 & 3 require participation in the Tuition Refund Plan (3.05% of the tuition) and an Installment fee of $150.00
Student billing is managed by Blackbaud Tuition Management.

Is my information secure with Clarity?
Hilton Head Prep takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously. Clarity is certified for both GDPR and SOC2 and uses enterprise-level security standards, including end-to-end encryption of all personally identifiable information. For more information, please refer to
Clarity’s Privacy Policy
If I apply for financial aid will it affect my child's chances of admission to Prep?
Applying for financial aid will not affect your child's chances of admission to the school. The Financial Aid Committee and Admissions Committee are two different groups. The Admissions Committee reviews every applicant in terms of their academic preparedness and fit for the community without any consideration of the family's financial status.
If my spouse and I are separated or divorced, do we both need to fill out the Parents' Financial Statement?
Hilton Head Preparatory School expects parents to contribute to the educational costs for their children to the full extent they are financially able. This principle applies to all parents, even those who are separated or divorced. Both parents are expected to file all of the necessary forms and to comply fully with all of the guidelines and requirements of the aid process. Thus, tax returns and forms are required of all parents. The custodial and non-custodial parent must each fill out the Clarity Finanical Aid Application.. Remarriage of either natural parent creates a new family unit with new relationships, but since the parents still have a parental obligation, the income and assets of the entire family unit (including new family units and step-parents) are viewed as relevant for the purposes of calculating a family's level of need. Hilton Head Preparatory School considers the obligations of the parents to their new family situation in determining the award, but will not allocate the award on a proportional basis among the families. The responsibility for communication and payment lies with the custodial parent.
