Oberlin Anthony Brogdona is the producer of the acclaimed documentary Business in the Black, and the author of Black Business Book, America’s number one book on Black business history. His research traces how our ancestors gained education after enslavement, highlights early Black college graduates from the 1800s, documents the founding of every HBCU — including our own Wilberforce University and Central State University — and uncovers the remarkable stories of Black entrepreneurs who built wealth under unimaginable conditions. He is the longest serving President in the 110-year history of the Dayton Branch NAACP. For two decades, Dr. Foward has been a strong advocate with the NAACP for Civil and Human Rights locally, statewide and nationally. In 2023, during the 54th NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles, California, he was awarded the NAACP Image Award for Activist of the Year. Dr. Foward, a graduate of Central State University Ebony Class of 1990, was inducted into the Central State University Alumni Achievement Hall of Fame on March 1, 2016.
