Blaze Forward Tuition Program
Using a combination of grants and other gift aid the Blaze Forward Program provides students meeting all eligibility requirements with funding that will cover 100% of their tuition and course fees for the fall and spring semesters.

Eligibility Criteria
Be a Texas resident eligible for in-state tuition rates.
Be eligible to receive awards through Federal Pell Grant and
TEXAS Grant programs
Have a combined student and parent adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less each tax year.
Enroll full-time at UTA
(minimum of 12 undergraduate hours each long semester).
Complete Admissions Process
All students should apply, be accepted for admission, and have a complete financial aid file by March 1.
New transfer students must have an their first associate's degree from a Texas college 12 months prior to enrolling at UTA.
Social Security Number is required on the admission application to upload the FAFSA. SSN not entered on the admission application may result in missing the deadline for entry to the program.

Submit Financial Aid Forms
After receiving a student's completed FAFSA or TASFA, Financial Aid may request additional documents or forms. If requested, these documents/forms must be received by March 1.
Students can complete the FAFSA application online at
www.fafsa.gov
Meet Deadlines
The deadline to be considered for the Blaze Forward Program is March 1 each year.
The FAFSA or TASFA and verification documents must be received by the UTA Financial Aid Office.
Program Renewal Requirements
Program participation may be renewed for up to 4 years (8 long semesters) for incoming first-year or 2 years (4 long semesters) for incoming transfer students, or upon graduation if sooner than the 4- or 2-year renewal window, when recipients:
Continue to meet financial eligibility criteria and deadlines each year.
Maintain a cumulative 2.5 grade point average at UTA.
Complete at least 24 credit hours each year for the fall and spring semesters combined.

How do I apply?
It’s easy to apply for the Blaze Forward program. You need to meet all eligibility requirements and UTA must receive your admission application (as well as all required admission documents) and your FASFA or TASFA (as well as all required financial aid documents) before March 1st. Students meeting all eligibility requirements will automatically be considered for the program and will be notified. There is not an additional application needed for the program.
What costs are covered by the Blaze Forward Program?
Using a combination of grants, waivers, and UTA merit-based scholarships, the Blaze Forward Program covers 100% of a qualifying students' tuition and course fees for the fall and spring semesters.
Do new students have to start in the fall semester at UTA to receive Blaze Forward?
Yes, based on available funding, new students must start at UTA in the Fall semester.
I am a current UTA student. Am I eligible for the program?
Yes, all currently enrolled UTA students who meet the eligibility requirements including having received TEXAS Grant will automatically be considered for the Blaze Forward program.
What if I do not meet all of the eligibility criteria or miss the deadline?

What happens if my family’s yearly income exceeds $100,000 after I’ve initially been approved to participate?
If your family’s yearly income exceeds $100,000 after you’ve been approved to participate in the Blaze Forward program, you will no longer be guaranteed to continue in the program. However, UTA will offer you the maximum financial aid for which you are eligible.
Are out-of-state or international students eligible for the program?
No, but you may be eligible for other financial aid programs including UTA’s academic and departmental scholarships through

I am a transfer student earning my Associate's degree, am I eligible for the program?
Yes, transfer students who meet the eligibility requirements will automatically be considered for the Blaze Forward program.
For consideration, send your official transcript with the earned associate’s degree by June 15 to the Office of Admissions. If you meet all other eligibility requirements, you will receive a revised financial aid offer.
Is the Blaze Forward program renewable for future years?

If I withdraw from UTA or take a semester off, can I still participate in the Blaze Forward Program?
If you withdraw from UTA or take a semester off, you will no longer be guaranteed to continue in the Blaze Forward Program. However, UTA will offer you the maximum financial aid for which you are eligible when you re-enroll or re-apply.
Are the Dallas Promise, T3, Red River Promise and Texoma Promise "Promise Last Dollar Tuition Award" included in the Blaze Forward Program funding?
Yes, the Blaze Forward program applies the same funds made up of federal, state, and institutional grants to cover the class tuition and course fees for eligible UTA promise program students who have also met all the requirements and deadlines for the Blaze Forward program.
What if I have other outside scholarships? Can I use that funding for books or other expenses?
Yes, outside scholarships and scholarships awarded through

may be used for other expenses beyond tuition and fees.
