Elevator Pitches to Difficult Conversations: SHSS Hosted Expert Talk on Corporate Communication
Bengaluru, 10th April 2026:
Students of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, participated in an expert talk on Corporate Communication held on 10 April 2026 at the JGI Knowledge Campus. The session was designed to strengthen students’ understanding of professional communication practices and their application in corporate environments.
Organised by SHSS, the interactive session brought together 60 students from across academic years for a focused discussion on key aspects of workplace communication. The expert talk was led by Mansi K Panani, Soft Skills Trainer at Bloom Learning and Well Being, who guided students through the essentials of effective corporate communication.
The session explored practical dimensions of communication, beginning with the importance of crafting a strong elevator pitch. Students learned how to introduce themselves concisely and confidently, adapting their message for interviews, networking, and professional presentations. Emphasis was also placed on the role of tone, body language, and word choice in shaping workplace interactions.
A key highlight of the session was the discussion on handling difficult conversations with clarity and empathy. Through examples and guided interaction, students were introduced to strategies for maintaining professionalism while addressing sensitive topics, reinforcing the importance of emotional intelligence in corporate settings.
Participants also engaged in group activities designed to simulate real-world communication scenarios. These exercises encouraged collaboration, peer learning, and active participation, allowing students to apply theoretical concepts in a practical context. A dedicated Q&A session further enabled students to clarify doubts and engage directly with the speaker.
Faculty members noted that the session helped students build a stronger understanding of communication as a strategic skill, essential for both personal and professional development. Students responded positively to the interactive format, highlighting its relevance to future workplace requirements.
The session concluded with reflections on the importance of clear, ethical, and adaptive communication in modern organisations. It reinforced the need for students to develop not only technical competence but also interpersonal skills that support effective collaboration and leadership in diverse professional environments.

Ambedkar Jayanti at JAIN NSS Wing Highlights the Enduring Power of Education and Equality
Bengaluru, 14th April 2026:
The NSS Wing at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) marked Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April 2026 with a reflective and purposeful gathering on campus, bringing together faculty, dignitaries and student volunteers to honour the legacy of B. R. Ambedkar. Held in the morning, the event commemorated the birth anniversary of the principal architect of the Indian Constitution while inviting students to engage with the continuing relevance of his ideas on justice, education and social reform.
The programme opened with a welcome address that set the tone by recalling Ambedkar’s enduring belief that “cultivation of mind should be the ultimate aim of human existence”. The remark resonated across the audience, framing the event not simply as a tribute, but as a call to intellectual and social responsibility. Attendees, including NSS volunteers, participated with a shared sense of purpose, reflecting the University’s emphasis on civic awareness alongside academic learning.
A solemn floral tribute followed, as faculty members and invited dignitaries paid their respects. Observed in silence, the ceremony underscored a collective acknowledgement of Ambedkar’s role in shaping a more equitable society. The atmosphere remained contemplative, encouraging participants to consider the depth of his contributions beyond textbook narratives.
The event then transitioned into a keynote address that traced Ambedkar’s journey from his early struggles against systemic discrimination to his lasting achievements as a reformer, economist and constitutional thinker. The speaker emphasised the transformative role of education as a tool for empowerment, urging students to view knowledge not only as a personal asset but as a means to advance social change.
By the close of the session, the event had moved beyond commemoration to reflection and dialogue. For students, it offered a moment to connect historical ideals with present-day responsibilities, reinforcing the role of education in building a more inclusive and informed society.
