Departments
At the St. Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards, we strive to provide top-notch services.
Air Quality
Monitors indoor air quality such as identifying mold, carbon monoxide and particulate matter
Chemistry
Performs chemical analyses on water, food, soil, and plants.
Microbiology
Offers microbial analyses on food (cooked and raw) and water (drinking, bottled, marine, pond, well, waste).
Metrology
Provides legal metrology services in the areas of mass and volume measurements.
Standards
Prepares, promotes, and adopts standards nationally.
Food Safety Services
Certifies food and beverage services.
Radiation
Performs radiation checks.
EAA Pre-Shipment Verification
The St. Kitts-Nevis Bureau of Standards (SKNBS) has appointed EAA Company Limited (EAA) as an accredited inspection company for a Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC) program for the roadworthiness of used vehicles imported to St. Kitts-Nevis from the 1st of January 2024.

About the Bureau
The St. Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards (SKNBS) was officially established on the 8
th
day of March 1999 under the National Bureau of Standards Act No. 7 of 1999 now the Bureau of Standards and Quality Act No. 19 of 2021.
It is an Act to provide for the preparation, promotion, and implementation of standards and standard-related activities about commodities, goods, services, processes, and practices by the establishment and operation of a Bureau of Standards; to define the powers and functions of the Bureau of Standards; to provide for transitional provisions, and incidental matters.
