The Pennsylvania Treasury Department serves as the custodian of more than $170 billion in Commonwealth funds, and is responsible for the receipt and deposit of state monies, investment management and oversight of all withdrawals and deposits from state agencies.
Treasury also administers several programs, including PA 529, PA ABLE and INVEST, that help families, municipal governments, and nonprofit organizations prepare for the future. We also maintain the award-winning OpenBookPA, which provides an in-depth look at how taxpayer dollars are being spent.

Designed to help encourage higher education and to help families start saving early, the Keystone Scholars program will provide a $100 scholarship grant account at birth for every child born or adopted in Pennsylvania starting in January 2019.
PA ABLE
Savings Program
A PA ABLE account gives individuals with qualified disabilities, and their families and friends, a tax-free way to save for disability-related expenses, while maintaining government benefits.
PA 529
College and Career Savings Program
The key to college saving is to start small and start now. Nothing helps your savings grow like time. And your money can grow even faster in a tax-advantaged 529 plan.
