Ofsted reports
The Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills
(more commonly known as Ofsted)
inspect academies and schools throughout England.
We are delighted to share with you the outcome of E-ACT Heartlands Academy’s most recent Ofsted inspection, which was conducted in March 2025.
Inspection Judgements
Ofsted inspections currently have the following grades for each category: Outstanding, Good, Satisfactory, and Inadequate.
Under the current, more rigorous inspection framework, it is exceptionally rare for a school to be judged
Outstanding
in
all four
key categories. Achieving this standard reflects a truly exceptional provision and a relentless focus on excellence. As you can see below, Heartlands Academy has been awarded the highest possible grade in every category.
Outstanding – The quality of education
Outstanding – Behaviour and attitudes
Outstanding – Personal development
Outstanding – Leadership and management
This outcome confirms the academy’s continued excellence since its previous inspection in February 2014, maintaining an
Outstanding
standard throughout.
Inspectors recognised Heartlands Academy as a place where students are safe, ambitious, and deeply engaged in their learning. The report highlights our ambitious curriculum, the exceptional academic and personal outcomes achieved by all student, and the inclusive and respectful culture that defines our academy. Students were commended for their high aspirations, excellent behaviour, and active participation in leadership opportunities.
Our safeguarding, behaviour, and attendance systems were described as highly effective, and the inspection team acknowledged the strength of our partnerships with families and external agencies. The academy’s approach to supporting disadvantaged students and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities was described as exemplary.
We are proud to be part of the E-ACT Trust, led by CEO Tom Campbell and overseen by a Board of Trustees chaired by Lord Jim Knight. The trust’s leadership has played a key role in sustaining and advancing the academy’s success.
We are incredibly proud of our students, staff, and community. This report reflects the hard work, deep commitment, and shared values that drive everything we do at Heartlands. It also reflects the transformative impact that a truly inclusive, high-quality education can have on a community.
