Alleyn's School proudly provides a variety of Nuco Approved First Aid courses available to the whole community.

Our First Aid courses equip you with the knowledge and confidence to act quickly in emergencies, potentially saving lives when every second counts. Attending a first aid course is one of the most valuable things you can do for yourself and those around you whether that be work colleagues, friends or family.
Courses are led by Alleyn's Head of Adventure and Safety Training, Richard Alldrick.

Rich is outstanding and the course content, equipment and presentation was by the far the best I’ve ever attended (I’ve I think I’ve done about five in my life). Richard Alldrick
Richard Alldrick is a mountain leader and the Head of Adventure & Safety training at Alleyn’s. Richard has been the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Manager since 1999 and is a D of E supervisor and assessor. Richard is a trainer in Off Site Safety Management, bushcraft and is a trainer and assessor on the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme.
Richard takes lead of delivering staff leader trip training to all Alleyn's staff alongside his role of Alleyn’s Deputy Educational Visits Co-ordinator.
Richard has over 30 years’ experience in the Outdoors, instructing in First Aid and a wealth of knowledge running trips both in this country and abroad. Richard holds a First response Emergency Care Level 3 and is an instructor on the following courses. Please talk to our team and see is Richard can tailor a training course to meet your requirements.

All course materials will be provided.
Courses are practical based, please ensure you are dressed appropriately.
Practical work will involve working on the floor. This includes First Aid Scenarios, Recovery Position, CPR and safe use of the Defibrillator. Participants must be mobile enough to perform these practical tasks.
Lunch will be provided for all course attendees.
Outdoor First Aid - there will be several sessions held outside. Please ensure you wear suitable clothing for the weather. The course will run through all weather types.
We strongly encourage all visitors to consider how they travel to our site, and to choose active travel or public transport wherever possible.
Roads around Alleyn's are subject to a range of traffic and parking control measures including timed restrictions, so please pay careful attention to road signage and directions. In particular:
The junction on Townley Road and East Dulwich Grove is not available to cars in certain directions
between 8:00am to 9:00am
and
3:00pm to 4:30pm.
Southwark Council manages two different Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) covering roads around the Senior and Junior School entrances. These areas are regularly patrolled by traffic wardens.

Traveling to Alleyn’s
Travel and Directions
The course venue will be shared before the start of each course.
All attendees must arrive to the site via the Senior School Main Entrance on Townley Road. On arrival, you must sign in at The Lodge. All visitors will be provided with a Visitor lanyard which must be worn and visible at all times.
A member of the Alleyn's Team will greet all attendees at The Lodge at the course start time.
Courses run on the School site, during school hours. All attendees must remain within the venue and wear their Visitor lanyard at all times.
Please note that there is no parking available on site.
We are able to grant reasonable adjustments for those with disabilities, medical conditions or learning needs that may affect them during the assessment. For example, assistance can be given with reading and writing.
For some courses, the assessment includes a demonstration of practical competence and it may not be possible to grant a reasonable adjustment.
All participants must be able to get to the floor unaided, and successfully demonstrate all required elements of the practical assessment on your own.
This reflects a real-life situation.
Those who have a temporary injury affecting their ability may be able to defer their assessment to a later date.
