There are 102 weeks of direct instruction and assessments in the first three years, and 48 weeks of hands-on clinical training involving core medical knowledge; including prevention, diagnosis, treatment or mitigation of animal disease; as well as training in clinical skills and professional skills totalling 150 weeks in the program. The program is based on the core and Day one competencies identified by international accrediting bodies, the CBVE and the AVMA.
