The central Office of the Registrar is responsible for compliance, transcript management, degree and enrollment verification for students and alumni, administering the residency policy, degree conferrals, and academic data reporting.
We strive for excellence in all our endeavors, constantly challenging ourselves to be as efficient and effective as possible. We seek out new and better ways of doing business for the benefit of ourselves and the community we serve.
Residency Petitions
The deadline to submit a
Spring
2026
petition is January 30, 2026. The Office of the Registrar will begin accepting residency petitions for
Summer 2026

In-State Classification Process
All incoming students' default to out-of-state, non-resident. If you wish to be considered for in-state residency status, you must apply for in-state status.
Transfer Credits
Learn how to transfer credits from other colleges or universities.
Inter-Institutional Enrollment
raduate students at University System of Maryland (USM) institutions can take selected courses at other USM institutions while paying tuition at their home school.
