Before you register to apply, we encourage families to visit the school in person, either at an open event or a private visit and meet the Head and current pupils. A visit is the best way to experience the warmth, energy and spirit of school life. Key points of entry are at 11+ Year 7 and 13+ Year 9. We also welcome applications for other year groups, including the Sixth Form, when space allows. We recommend registering by the end of the Autumn Term of Year 5 for 11+ and 13+ entry to ensure an invitation to our Summer Term Taster Days. For Sixth Form entry, we recommend registration be made at least one year in advance. visit us the admissions journey Next steps When you are ready to register your daughter, please complete our online registration form with the non-refundable £300 registration fee (including VAT). After receiving the registration form and fee, our Admissions Team will confirm the next steps, which include Entrance Assessments and Taster Days. For our international applicants whose first language is not English, we ask parents to share a recent school report and evidence of English language ability with our Admissions Team prior to registration. Once reviewed, and if a place is available, the Admissions Team will be in touch. REGISTRATION FORM the admissions journey Taster Days Girls considering entry at either 11+ or 13+ are invited to a Taster Day in the Summer Term of Year 5. These vibrant, hands-on days offer a chance to take part in lessons and activities, meet current pupils and teachers and discover what makes St Mary’s Calne such an inspiring place to live and learn. the admissions journey Entrance Days We aim to make our Entrance Days enjoyable and accessible for all. During the day, each applicant will complete an adaptive online assessment in maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, as well as a short creative writing task. There will also be an informal interview with a senior member of staff, which gives us a chance to get to know each applicant as an individual. the admissions journey Offer of a place and acceptance Following the assessments, we aim to communicate the outcome quickly and clearly by email ensuring you have all of the information you need as you plan your next steps together. We ask families to confirm acceptance of a place promptly so any unfilled places can be offered to candidates on our waiting list. To accept your daughter’s place, families are asked to pay a £2,400 acceptance fee by an agreed date. A Parent Contract will be shared in the Spring Term prior to the year of entry, ensuring everything is in place for a smooth transition to life at St Mary’s Calne. the admissions journey Experience Days Once a place is confirmed, girls are welcomed back for themed Experience Days. These include a range of specialisms and have included tennis, lacrosse, jazz dance, science and art. Our Experience Days are designed to help pupils grow in confidence, build friendships and feel a sense of belonging before joining the school.
