Counseling
In-school counseling services at Northwest Academy guide students and families in building the resources and skills that foster social and emotional wellbeing. Our philosophy is collaborative, strengths-based, and rooted in current best practices. We believe that adolescents have a strong capacity for growth, but it can be hard to access inner strengths and resources without support.
Northwest Academy has a licensed, master’s level counselor who offers individual counseling sessions, facilitates groups, and is available to meet with parents and caregivers. If more than short-term counseling services are needed, we will help provide appropriate community-based referrals.
The student services team also works with students, administration, and faculty to launch school-wide initiatives and events pertaining to community wellness and diversity, equity and inclusion; create curricula that foster social-emotional development; organize seminars and workshops for parents; and support faculty development about relevant topics.
Academic Support for Student Services
Our learning support program provides individualized support through accommodation plans, short-term coaching, collaboration with teachers, and coordination with families.
