Established in 2009 under the Act of Parliament by the Ministry of Education, NITUK is a burgeoning institute of national importance in Uttarakhand (known as Devbhumi) amidst the serene and magnificent Himalayas. The impeccable geographical location endows natural advantage to the institution. It boosts learning, which is greatly reflected in the institute’s excellent teaching-learning ambiance, young and dedicated faculty, and significant contribution to research work and commitment to the community.

UNDERGRADUATE
Admission to the undergraduate programs at NIT UK is done through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main).
The subsequent counseling and seat allocation process is managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) or the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). Admissions were given on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) prepared by JoSAA considering score in JEE (Main).
POSTGRADUATE
M. Tech.
The admission to M. Tech. degree programmes at NIT Uttarakhand is done through Centralized counselling for M. Tech. / M. Arch. / M.Plan. / M. Des. Admissions (CCMT) and admissions are conducted on the basis of valid GATE score.
For the admission in the Self Sponsored Category, candidates are shortlisted for written test on the basis of required qualification and the qualified candidates are called for personal interview for final selection.
DOCTORAL
The Institute provides facilities for research leading to the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences in various disciplines. For the admission in the Ph.D. program, candidates are shortlisted for written test on the basis of required qualification (GATE/NET/SET qualified). The qualified candidates are called for personal interview. After qualifying, the candidates are provisionally admitted for Ph.D. in the Institute. Their registration for Ph.D. program at the Institute is confirmed only after successful completion of Pre-Registration viva-voce.
PART TIME PROGRAMMES
NIT Uttarakhand has opened its doors for working professionals. These programmes are designed to enable them to pursue higher study while continuing in their Job/Profession in order to help them to accelerate their career.
