The rhythm of the timetable helps all members of the community establish a consistent pattern of prayer, study and recreation in a safe and secure environment. Good habits can thus be learned in preparation for life on the mission. Weekdays 6.45am Morning Prayer in Church 7am Mass (frequently in Italian or Latin) 7.30am Breakfast 8.30am–12.30pm University studies. The seminarians generally do around seven years of study, covering philosophy, theology and history. 1pm Lunch 2pm Afternoons are taken up with personal prayer and private study, spiritual direction, pastoral classes and work around Rome, and one-on-one discussions with a professional psychologist. 5pm Holy Hour (when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed) On some days in the early evening there are talks, discussion groups and social activities. 6.30pm (Wednesdays) Public Mass 7.15pm Evening Prayer 7.30pm Supper There are limited timetabled events in the evenings, although seminarians may also have pastoral work at these times.
