OTs address activities of daily living (ADL), such as self-care, work, and leisure, in order to maximize independence. We treat impairments due to a wide range of neurological diagnosis, such as brain injury spinal cord injury stroke neuromuscular diseases , as well as amputation, orthopedic conditions, pulmonary diseases , general debility, musculoskeletal injuries and developmental disabilities. How We Treat Our occupational therapists work with you to help you complete daily activities and the things you love. We work collaboratively with you, your family and physician to create a plan of care unique to you in order to achieve your goals and maximize your function. By focusing on everyday activities and adaptation of environment, we work to improve your ability to function as independently as possible in your home environment. We offer assessment with adaptive equipment and will recommend and train you and your family/caregivers in its use. We teach you and your family/caregivers the exercises and skills in therapy and how adapt your environment to allow for maximal independence at home.
