After School Music
Our After School Music program (Music Enrichment Programme) connects students with our experienced private instrumental teachers. Students may learn to play many different instruments, and may also participate in various ensembles, as well as learn theory and participate in ABRSM exams. Lessons primarily take place after the academic day finishes at 15:00, in our designated music rooms in the music/EAL corridor.
Weekly individual instruction is currently available on the following instruments: piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, guitar, bass guitar, percussion, and voice. Students have opportunities to perform in front of their peers and families, in concerts which normally take place twice per year.

The MEP offers fee-based individual music lessons to students in grades 1 to 12 on the school premises.
Individual Instruction is currently available on the following instruments: piano, guitar, drums, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone and voice.
The instructors are all English-speaking musicians. We have some instruments to rent for a nominal fee for a short time while students source their own instrument.
As part of the After School Music, ISH offers students the opportunity to prepare for and take the practical and theoretical exams of the
Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).
The exams, which are based on international standards and administered by a professional adjudicator, help students to set goals, give them the chance to evaluate their work, and reward them with positive reinforcement for their practicing. The After School Music faculty helps students to prepare for the practical exams. In addition, After School Music offers afternoon preparatory classes in music theory, ear training, and musicianship.
