Libraries
Welcome! Garrison Forest has two on-campus libraries that serve the entire School community, from our youngest students to the faculty.
These libraries offer an array of print and digital resources accessible from campus and home. The two libraries are active centers for learning, reading, research and collaboration.
The librarians at Garrison Forest work with teachers and students to instill information literacy and research skills through class assignments and Signature Projects across all divisions. Key concepts and strategies that guide our pedagogy include: Steps to Successful Research and
CARRDS Website Evaluation System.
The Elinor Purves McLennan Library
The Livingston Library
The Elinor Purves McLennan library serves Upper and Middle School students. Renovated in 2018, it is a lively hub for students before and after school, during free periods and study halls. The library houses a computer (Mac) lab for technology classes, a classroom, three small group study rooms and central areas with tables, study carols and couches.
The Livingston Library classes utilize a collection of over 9,000 titles and a school-wide online database available from the library and home. Weekly classes for the students feature literacy activities, research instruction on using library databases, finding online resources through effective web searching and selection of reading materials from print and digital collections.
