The evening ended with a speed networking session with industry experts, including sports journalists, marketing specialists, senior legal professionals and more.
Ikechi Eze, Chief Operating Officer of the Eze Foundation, said:
“We created the ‘Breaking Into’ event to bridge the gap between ambition and access, giving young people real insight into industries they aspire to be part of.
“Too often, talent exists without opportunity, so we wanted to create a space where attendees could hear honest journeys, ask questions, and build meaningful connections with professionals.
“Our goal was for every attendee to leave with greater clarity, confidence, and tangible next steps. We aim to host these events every few months, each time focusing on different industries, to continue opening doors and expanding pathways for the next generation.”
Paul Barnes, Sports and Active Life Engagement Manager at the University of Greenwich. added:
“Collaborating with the Eze Foundation, led by Ikechi Eze and his incredible team, is a powerful opportunity to demonstrate what can be achieved when purpose, passion, and people come together. Sport has a unique ability to break down barriers, inspire ambition, and open doors to lifelong personal and professional growth.
“Our directorate, Student & Academic Services, is proud to play a key role in delivering an initiative that aligns with our strategic outcomes, connecting with students from a wide-ranging background of courses. Together, we are creating meaningful opportunities, building futures, and making a lasting impact across our community. We are excited to continue co-creating many more events and opportunities like this for our students.”
