Defender Fridays
Defender Fridays are an engaging visit experience for prospective students. Visitors will meet our admissions counselors, professors, coaches, and directors to explore their programs of interest and co-curricular goals on a deeper level. The Defender Friday experience takes you a step further by immersing you into campus life as you hear different voices across campus, from students to support staff. The best part? Having the opportunity to connect with other students who are also considering Dordt! Find a date that works best for you and register to attend!

Welcome to Campus
You may begin arriving at 7:45 p.m.
8:15 p.m.
Dorm & Apartment Tours (Students Only)
8:15 p.m.
Defender Friday Overview (Parents Only)
While students are touring, parents will receive helpful information and materials about the upcoming Defender Friday visit day.
After the overview, we encourage parents to check into their hotel for the evening. You're welcome to return for Praise & Worship at 9:30 PM, or relax on campus while students continue their activities.
9:00 p.m.
Snack from 55th Coffee Shop (Students Only)
9:15 p.m.
Overnight Host Pick-Up (Students Only)
Students will meet their overnight hosts and prepare for the night.
Note: Some hosts may not be able to meet you at this time due to practices or study sessions. If that's the case, your host will meet you after Praise & Worship at the Admissions table.

Weekday Visits
Need more flexibility? During the school year, we offer small group, weekday visits on Monday afternoons starting at 1 p.m., and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting at 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. Each visit will include a tour of campus, a visit with a professor from your desired major (if available), and a meeting with an admissions counselor.
The length of your visit will vary depending on how many appointments you request. Chapel attendance is also included during a Wednesday visit when possible. If you have specific time restrictions please let us know before you arrive on campus. We look forward to showing you around!

During the summer, we offer weekday visits on Monday and Wednesday afternoons starting at 1 p.m. and Thursday and Friday mornings starting at 9 a.m. Each visit will include a tour of campus, a visit with a professor from your desired major (if available), and a meeting with an admissions counselor.
Due to availability, we are unable to offer meals or overnight stays for summer visits.

Travel Reimbursement
If students do a full campus visit during Dordt's academic year—which includes a tour, visits with professors, and meeting with Admissions, we will be happy to provide a one-time travel reimbursement.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any travel reimbursement for summer visits.
If you have questions, please call Ruth Hofland, Campus Visit Coordinator, at 712-722-6093.
Flight Reimbursement
If a prospective student flies to visit campus and does not need Dordt to provide airport transportation, we will reimburse $300. If Dordt needs to provide airport transportation, we will reimburse $200. This money will be paid on the day of your visit. If you need transportation from the airport, we only offer that from the Sioux City, IA, and Sioux Falls, SD, airports. We do not offer transportation from the Omaha airport.
Driving (Miles) Reimbursement
If a prospective student drives to visit campus, we will also offer reimbursement for the following distances. This reimbursement will be calculated based on the distance from your home address to Dordt's campus, and the amount will be paid during the wrap-up portion of your visit day:
200-399 miles from Dordt: $25
400-599 miles from Dordt: $50
600-799 miles from Dordt: $75
800+ miles from Dordt: $100
