About the Office Management

The Office of Management (MA) delivers corporate support, leadership, and oversight at the Department of Energy for a wide range of management, procurement, and administrative functions. Key areas of responsibility include contract and financial assistance management; property; corporate policies and authorities; sustainability; and aviation. MA also ensures the smooth operation of the DOE Headquarters through essential administrative, facility, and employee services. Additionally, MA leaders fulfill the statutory duties of the Chief Acquisition Officer and serve as the Senior Procurement Executive, Senior Real Property Officer, Chief Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer, and Chief Sustainability Officer for the Department.

Up To 12 Daily Parking Permits Can Be Purchased In April 2026
Daily Parking Permits are purchased through the Forrestal Parking Website at:
www.DOEForrestalParking.com
Please remember to purchase your permits
before
arriving at the garage to ensure smooth operations and efficient entry.
Plan ahead accordingly:
Permits may sell out for high-demand days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Higher permit availability is expected on low-demand days, Mondays and Fridays.
The Office of Management (MA) has heard employee suggestions regarding the challenges of securing daily parking, and this initiative is a direct response.

This is a pilot program, and its long-term success depends on your experience.  The Office of Management will be evaluating the program to determine if this change should be made permanent.
Parking in the Forrestal Garage
During normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., all vehicles parked in the Forrestal garage must display a valid, paid, monthly or daily permit.
This includes motorcycles
, as of August 1, 2025, as well as passenger vehicles.
Unless already approved for a Monthly permit, motorcycles need to purchase a standard Daily permit for $3 per day.
Motorcycle owners in possession of a Monthly car permit may use the car permit for their motorcycle.

Employees may purchase parking permits through the online parking system at

.
After Hours Parking
The Forrestal Parking Garage is available for parking for all DOE employees with a valid DOE badge between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on weekdays, and all day on weekends and holidays.  A DOE badge is required for access.  Prior to 5:00 pm on weekdays, only permit holders are allowed in the garage.

Official travel is any travel by a federal or contractor employee who is conducting U.S. government business for authorized and official purposes. DOE travelers approved to travel for official purposes must make travel reservations through a Department of Energy designated Travel Management Center.
